Which weights do I need?
Most people need three to five pairs: a light pair for shoulders and arms, a medium pair for presses and rows, and a heavy pair for squats, lunges and deadlifts. These sets are built from our hex dumbbells and add two of each weight to your cart.

How to choose dumbbells
- Start lighter than you thinkPick a weight you can lift 10–12 times with good form. You'll move up within weeks, and hex singles make it cheap to add the next pair.
- Pairs or singlesHex dumbbells are sold singly, so you can buy one heavy dumbbell for goblet squats or a pair for presses. Sets and adjustables come as pairs.
- Protect your floorRubber and TPU heads are quieter and kinder to tiles than bare steel. Add rubber flooring where you'll drop weights.
- Plan the rackA 10-pair rack needs about 1.5 m of wall. Leave space in front to step back and lift.
- Commercial useFor gyms and estates, a 2.5–25 kg set on a two-tier rack covers most members. Add the 27.5–40 kg set for heavier lifters.
- Short on spaceAn adjustable pair replaces up to nine pairs. They're slower to change between sets and shouldn't be dropped.

Are hex dumbbells sold as pairs?
No. Powercore Rubber Hexagon Dumbbells are sold singly, from 1 kg to 50 kg. Set the quantity to 2 for a pair, or use the ready-made sets above, which add two of each weight to your cart.
What weight dumbbells should a beginner buy?
Most beginners do well with a light pair of 2–5 kg for shoulders and arms and a heavier pair of 6–12.5 kg for squats, lunges and rows. Choose a weight you can lift 10–12 times with good form.
Should I buy hex or round dumbbells?
Hex dumbbells don't roll, so they're better for floor exercises and home gyms. Round dumbbells look neater on a rack and are the usual choice for commercial gyms.
Are adjustable dumbbells worth it?
If space is tight, yes. One pair replaces a rack of fixed dumbbells. They take a few seconds to change between sets and shouldn't be dropped, so busy gyms usually prefer fixed sets.
What do I need for a commercial gym?
Most gyms start with a 2.5–25 kg set of 10 pairs on a two-tier rack and add a 27.5–40 kg set for heavier lifters. We quote full gym fit-outs, including racks and flooring, with a 3D layout of your space.
