Weight Plates in South Africa

MiFitness stocks weight plates for every kind of training: rubber-coated Olympic plates that are quieter and kinder to floors, hi-temp bumper plates you can drop from overhead for Olympic lifts, cast iron plates made in South Africa, and chrome steel plates for a premium gym finish. All Olympic plates fit 50 mm Olympic bars.

Pair your plates with an Olympic bar, collars, a power rack and a plate tree from our storage range. Fitting out a gym? We supply plates in bulk for commercial gyms, schools and estates.

Weight Plates questions

What is the difference between bumper plates and rubber-coated plates?

Bumper plates are solid rubber and all the same diameter, so they can be dropped from overhead in Olympic lifting. Rubber-coated plates have a metal core with a rubber layer: quieter than cast iron but not made to be dropped.

Will your plates fit my bar?

Our Olympic plates have a 50 mm hole and fit standard Olympic bars. Standard (25 mm) bars need standard plates.

Are plates sold singly or in pairs?

It depends on the product. Check the product page, where the price shows whether it is per plate or per pair.

Can I pay in instalments?

Yes. You can choose Payflex, Float or Mobicred at checkout, subject to their approval.

Do you supply gyms in bulk?
